I live the dream, singing and writing songs in Nashville. My favorite things (besides music) are thrifting, DIY projects, wine, puppies, and anything vintage.

I found out about Christy Dawn on instagram. Yup. The gram totally works. I think it was through the explore page but I was instantly like "What are these gorgeous dresses and how have I never heard of this designer before???"

Her dresses are everything I love. Feminine, vintage (she uses dead stock fabric!!!) mostly neutral colors, flowing patterns. Ugggh. I could go on and on about my love affair with her clothes.  So when I was styling the Get Drunk and Cry Short Film, I knew I needed to wear some Christy Dawn.

This dress is the Monarch dress. It comes in a bunch of different colors but the pale yellow had me at HIIIIIII.  The ruched neckline and the flowing short sleeves, the tie belt that makes sure it's super flattering, it's just a winner over all.

I picked this dress for the very end of the film for a very confident look. This is the part where I've gone through all the heartache and come out stronger on the other side. The monarch dress felt perfect for that sentiment!

We filmed this part at 4:45 in the morning downtown Broadway here in Nashville. At first it was scary walking right down the middle of the road while cars are coming at you but after a few minutes you figure, "Pretty sure none of these cars are gonna hit me???" Hey, any sacrifice for art right?

Literally obsessed with this dress... It always makes me feel so fancy and feminine. ✨✨✨

All my 💖,

Ruthie
